     My first interest in pottery came as a boy when I watched my great aunt, Lorraine Edwards, create pottery and sculptures. Miss Edwards taught sculpture and pottery at Bob Jones University in Greenville, South Carolina. During the summer months she would come home to Illinois. During her visits she would take some of us out to the woods and harvest clay. She would tell us how ancient civilizations would gather clay and store it for future generations.

      In March of 2009 I joined the teaching staff at Lakeview Museum located in Peoria,IL. Classes run for 8 week sessions. For more information, please go to the the Lakeview Museum website, www.lakeview-museum.org.
