Thank you for stopping by Bishop Hill Colony Pottery. Our building, one of the original hand made brick structures. Built in 1857,

it is located at 203 Bishop Hill Street. Once known as the Blacksmith Shop, it has been the home for the Prairie Arts Center, a folk art artisan shop and studio since 2005. On the second floor of the Prairie Arts Center you will find VagnHall Galleri which exhibits the work of local and national fine artists.

The Prairie Arts Center is a folk art artisan shop where everything is made by hand. Most days you can drop in and watch one or more of us create a variety of gifts for the home using various techniques such as broom making, rug making, spinning, weaving and pottery.

The Prairie Arts Center is home to two of Bishop Hill's fine events: Clay & Fiber and A Gathering of Authors.

The Prairie Arts Center, VagnHall Galleri and Bishop Hill Colony Pottery is open 7 days a week year round. We do close on major holidays. Please call us if weather is questionable.

Sunday: Noon-5pm

Mon.-Sat: 10am-5pm

We close at 4pm during the months of January,February and March.
